Mia Mäkilä (Mia Makila) is a 30 year old self taught artist from Sweden. Dealing with difficult emotions and themes such as fear, angst, madness, rage and sorrow in her art has earned her a nick name -  “Horror Artist”.

She describes her art as horror pop surrealism or dark lowbrow. Her work includes mixed media, paintings and digital collages. Take a look at her recent work below, you will either love it or hate it!

A bakery shop in Split, city in Croatia, used to get broken into almost every week until the owner came up with a great idea to protect his bakery shop – Chuck Norris.

By placing a life-sized photo in the window of the man who can kill two stones with one bird , Chuck Norris,  they are now living without any fear of getting broken into.

The sign above the picture that says: “This shop is under the protection of Chuck Norris,” really worked. Bakery hasn’t had a single burglary for more than a month. The power of Chuck Norris!!

According to the sales assistant Mirna Kovac, they started this as a joke but it has been working so far. She said: “People seem to respect him. Everyone around here has seen his films and he’s quite a popular character, perhaps even among criminals, so they’ve decided to leave us alone.”

“We have had a few customers come in and ask us whether they can get Chuck’s autograph. They really believe he is sitting in our storeroom out the back ready to pounce on any burglars.”
