1. The Ring

This is a pretty creepy film about… um… creepy film, actually. But as the story goes deeper and you unravel more facts about this “mystery video” that keeps killing innocent people, you begin to figure out that there is perhaps more to the dreaded story than just myth and legend, and there perhaps there is someone… or something… behind the videotape.

2. The Others

Nicole Kidman lights up a very dark, dark screen on this video. The film starts out in a dark mansion… the windows are closed, the doors are locked, and the children are not allowed outside in the light because of their photosensitivity. This sets the scene for a very vividly real motion picture about a ghostly presence in the mansion, but it might not quite be what you think it is!

3. White Noise

This is a creepy movie with a very interesting premise. The movie is based on the theory that you can communicate with the dead electronically via white noise that circulates through out universe. In the movie, a man’s wife dies, leaving him alone and confused. But when he finds out that he can communicate with her through this “supernatural portal” of technological white noise, he becomes hooked, and starts looking incessantly for her presence on the view screen. But what he finds is not quite what he expects ,and it seems that he may be in for more than he bargained for!

First, only invite people who you know will not talk during the movie. The guest list is important, no doubt about it! Second, consider what snacks you will  be having – make sure to have popcorn, soda, candy, or anything else that you might want on hand before you start the movie.

As far as your tv goes, use the tv that you like the most – this is usually the television in your living room, because this one is usually the biggest and the highest in quality. For sound, hook up the surround sound, and turn it up enough to where it is difficult to talk over it. This way, people will pay more attention to the movie, and you will be able to hear all of the small things in it. If you are a very serious movie watcher, and if you are watching it alone, maybe hook up some headphones for the ultimate surround sound experience.

Make sure that your seat is a good distance from the tv, and make sure that everyone can see it well. It can really stink to have to watch a movie if you cannot see it well!

If you follow these simple steps, then you should be able to thoroughly enjoy your movie. Make sure to pick out a movie that everyone wants to see, and happy movie going!

Live free or Die Hard

This is the last installment of the famous Die Hard movies starring Bruce Willis. Yes, Bruce returns in this movie, though the brain power may be beyond his limits. He enlists the help of a young hacker to help him stop a mastermindís plot to basically take over the world using a computer hacking program called a firestorm. But don’t worry, Bruce does get to see some old fashioned action in this one!

If you were to create a super-computer for the government that got so smart and good at what it did that it began recruiting its own agents from the system to perform mysterious acts for it, then you would have a very realistic idea similar to the plot of this movie. Now, if your computer began using these agents to destroy your government agency, you would be getting a very good idea, and if it enlisted the help of Shey Lebuff (Transformers 1, Transformers 2) to help it, than you would pretty much have this one in reality-form.

The ultimate movie of computer domination. In this movie, computers have dominated mankind, who is now struggling to just stay alive. But there is hope, in the form of a chosen one (Keanu Reaves) who is beyond the computeris limits. Only he can set mankind free from the virtual prison that enslaves them.

This movie is part of the American Pie series, and it follows the exact same spirit of laughter as itís predecessors. The main character and his geeky girlfriend from Band camp, both of whom you have come to know and love from previous movies, are planning to get marriedÖ but if you think that it is going to be easy, or think that it is going to happen without some outrageous comedy first, then you are greatly mistaken!

In this movie, a man spends years being the best friend of the girl he loves. But then, right when he is about to tell her that he loves her, he finds out that she has gotten engaged very quickly to a Scottish Duke, and she asks him to be her maid of honor! It is now a race against time where he must show her that he cares, and that he is, in all actuality, the best man for her! This movie is filled with outright hilarious moments, but there are also some tender ones thrown in as well, making it an unforgettable movie that you will love to watch again and again.

When he returns, he finds that his best friend and girlfriend have gotten together, and that now things are a lot more complicated than they used to be.

3. Forces of Nature

Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock star in a movie here that really takes you beyond the traditional romantic comedy. Yes, there is some light hearten hilarity, but it is also very deep and romantic on a level that only two very professional actors (such as Ben and Sandra) could actually get away with. As a result, you have a movie here that will challenge you in a lot of ways as you watch it, and it will make you ask yourself about what is really important to you in life.

Tom Cruise puts on a stellar performance in this remade sci-fi epic. In this movie, what starts out as an unknown, mysterious set of circumstances turns into an all out battle for earthlings to just stay alive! You also follow Tom Cruiseís character as he questions the meaning of what is happening, and tries very hard to stay alive through it all.

This movie, which includes one of the most memorable performances by Will Smith to date, is the story of aliens invading earth in the classic fashion. It starts with giant spaceships orbiting overhead, heats up with a series of aerial battles over the skies of Area 51, includes some up-close and personal alien interaction with humans, and climaxes in a battle where the humans have no choice but to either find the aliens weakness, or die trying.

This movie you will likely remember for its incredible camera work it was all seemingly filmed on a small hand-held camera, which gives you only one perspective on it the same perspective as is held by the character holding the camera. This movie pits one frightfully intense alien presence against humanity in a way that frightens, terrifies, and rivets in ways that you would only believe if you have seen the movie.

Cloverfield

#1 – Gladiator.

Gladiator is the epic tale of a man who lost everything, just because he was trying to do the right thing. A General in the kings army, the main character, (who is a legendary warrior and swordsman), is forced to stoop to the level of gladiator. In the ring, he wins the admiration of the public, and gets a second chance to avenge the wrongdoings of his past. This movie has all kinds of epic sword fighting action, and if you are into gladiators, then that makes this a double punch of awesome.

#2 – 300.

Ok, picture 300 Spartan warriors, the best of the best, pitted in an all out battle against an army of millions, fighting against men, creatures, mythical monsters, and against a god-king who’s lust for power knows no bounds, and you will have some idea of what this movie is like. Stick an epic leader, unforgettable characters, and some of the best dialogue ever seen in an action move into the picture, and you have the makings of a dual-edged masterpiece.

#3 – 13th Warrior.

This is a fantastic movie about an Arabian man who gets caught up with a band of Vikings. Through a prophecy, he is whisked away to a faraway land with 12 other Viking warriors to battle an evil that has not surfaced in hundreds of years. These creatures are a different kind of evil, and Antonio Banderas deals out carnage in this movie with the true fashion of a Viking warrior.

#4 – Lord of The Rings.

These movies are known far and wide for the amazing, breathtaking battles that take place in each and every movie. There are three of these movies, and all of them are absolutely, astoundingly epic! These movies are an absolute must-see for anyone who likes movies with great sword-fighting, but I hope you are ready for some archery and axe wielding to go along… oh, and did I mention wizards?

Lord Of The Rings

First of all, the movie was well done, to say the least. The acting was incredible, the storyline was engaging, and the special effects were very cool. Although, there were not many special effects in the beginning, the movie made up for it later on.

Knowing - The Movie

The movie is about this girl who, in the beginning, predicts the end of the world. Then, fate (or whoever controls it…), brings Cage’s son into the fold, and there-also, him. He is a scientist-teacher, who decodes the message left by the little girl 50 years earlier. This message predicts a lot of disasters, and eventually the end of the world.

The movie is intense, and will cause you to have to use your brain a lot just to follow it! The psychological tension that exists do the main characters’ situations and how they are dealing with them (or failing to do so) keeps you on the edge of your seat even when there is apparently nothing going on. You will find  yourself wrapped up in the story, and the climax will leave you reflective and thoughtful. “Is this movie really that deep, or is it just playing tricks on me?”  Is one of the things you will probably find yourself thinking when it is over.

Overall, this is a movie you need to watch. If you enjoy movies with twists and surprises, but also movies that challenge you to reflect, then this might just be your favorite!
