If you are a fan of seeing the world, or at least a part of it, destroyed by super-real special effects and in surround sound,  then disaster movies are probably your favorite. Well, here are a few movies that have probably caught your fancy – although if you do love disaster movies but haven’t yet gotten to experience these tales of mayhem and madness,  they should be next on your to-view list! Armageddon.

Come on, with a name like that, how could it not be a disaster movie? Basically, in this movie, an asteroid the size of Texas threatens to wipe out all life on the planet. Only Bruce Willis and his band of oil-drilling misfits can save earth by drilling a hole into the asteroid and planting a nuclear device into it. Do they succeed? Only you can answer this question by watching it.
