E.T.

E.T. is the timeless, Steven Spielberg classic of an extraterrestrial who is taking part on a mission to mars. It seems that he, along with his brethren, have come to earth to gather samples… until something goes terribly wrong. The space-faring stranger is abandoned here on earth by his kind after they make a hasty escape from some nearby humans! Well, E.T. finds his way to the home of a nearby family, who gradually come to realize that there may be more to the alien than meets the eye!

This Mel Gibson picture deals with the mystery behind crop circles. A family who lives on a small farm in a rural town is haunted by this mystery after finding just such a work of ingenuity in their corn field. A series of bizarre encounters lead the family to believe that there might be more to this mystery than ropes and boards, and that perhaps there is more to the situation than they had ever hoped to realize!

K-pax

Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges star in a cast that brings a very different and very touching story to the silver screen. A man claims that he is actually an alien from the planet K-Pax, and that he is just visiting earth for awhile. In fact, there is a lot of evidence to support his claim, but as his life begins impacting the lives of those around him, it becomes clear that answers must be found before it is too late.

Are you into aliens invading earth (in the MOVIES, that is)? Well, if you are, then here are some of the best movies portraying the epic battle between earthlings and extraterrestrials. Some of these movies are action packed, some are terrifying, and all are fantastic! And if you think that alien movies are just sci-fi adventures with no story lines well, you obviously haven’t seen these movies, because these movies are written as well as they are visual!

War of the Worlds

Tom Cruise puts on a stellar performance in this remade sci-fi epic. In this movie, what starts out as an unknown, mysterious set of circumstances turns into an all out battle for earthlings to just stay alive! You also follow Tom Cruiseís character as he questions the meaning of what is happening, and tries very hard to stay alive through it all.

War of the Worlds

Independence day

This movie, which includes one of the most memorable performances by Will Smith to date, is the story of aliens invading earth in the classic fashion. It starts with giant spaceships orbiting overhead, heats up with a series of aerial battles over the skies of Area 51, includes some up-close and personal alien interaction with humans, and climaxes in a battle where the humans have no choice but to either find the aliens weakness, or die trying.

This movie you will likely remember for its incredible camera work it was all seemingly filmed on a small hand-held camera, which gives you only one perspective on it the same perspective as is held by the character holding the camera. This movie pits one frightfully intense alien presence against humanity in a way that frightens, terrifies, and rivets in ways that you would only believe if you have seen the movie.
