It might be a good step prior to distillation to make that part cleaner and less &quot;watery,&quot; but I wouldn&#039;t trust it completely, given the terrible effects methanol can have on the body (effects not limited to blindness.)

Distill before drinking, otherwise you may harm yourself or others.

water freezes at 0c
ethanol freezes at 114.1 unless it is diluted
so hypothetically you can distill vodka by freezing it which is easier!
