Braveheart

This movie is a classic tale of love, rebellion, and freedom. In this movie, Mel Gibson’s character, who wants to live a peaceful life free from violence and hatred, has his dreams dashed to pieces when his family dies at the hands of English tyrants. Being Scottish, he joins the Scotts in their fight against England, and fight they do… right up to the very end.

The Patriot

Mel Gibson once again fights for freedom, but in this movie his is fighting to free Colonial America from the hands of the British. Perhaps one of his best known movies, the Patriot really shows you just how good of an actor Mel Gibson is, because you get so pulled into his character that he seems completely and utterly lifelike on all levels.

Conspiracy Theory

In this movie, Mel Gibson teams up with Julia Roberts in a story that is masked in mystery, controversy, and conspiracy. Mel Gibson plays an ex-government agent who cannot remember his past. However, as the story progresses, it seems to get more and more clear that his past remembers him! Julia’s character is a federal agent who doesn’t know whether or not to believe what Mel’s character believes, but she soon finds that there is more to this “crazy” man than she ever thought there was.

Twilight

Yes, girls, we all know that Twilight is synonymous with Rob Pattinson, but there is an elite, attractive female presence too,  and it comes with the name of Kristin Stewart attached to it! This is probably the first movie that Kristen has done on a very widespread scale, and she does a very fine job of it too!

Adventureland

This is the story of a young boy with a lot of problems. He has a rich family, but finds out at the beginning of the movie that they have lost a lot of their money and that he can no longer to the expensive college of his dreams. Instead, he is forced to take a summer job at Adventureland,  which is where he meets Kristen Stewart’s character, a young girl with a messed up life who has a lot of problems. Can the two find love and happiness in such a messed up world? Well, watch and see!

The Cake Eaters

This is a different type of movie that deals with the story of a young girl who has a nerve-disorder. But woven throughout her life are the stories of various different other people who you follow as well. They all affect one another in unexpected ways as this movie plays itself out to a very happy, though somewhat unforeseen, ending.

The Matrix

Ah, yes, the science fiction epic that changed movies forever. Bullet dodging, men punching through brick walls, epic gunfights, slow-motion unlike anything the world has ever seen before, and a story that you can barely wrap your mind around are all reasons why the Matrix was such an insanely awesome movie. And the special effects were so good, that it is still way ahead of it’s time. Definitely one of Reaves’ defining moments.

Speed

This is an older film that Keanu did with Sandra Bullock that was very, very awesome. Basically, a bomb is planted aboard a bus. If the bus slows below 55 miles per hour, it detonates. As you can probably foresee, madness ensues. And who has to save the day? I’ll give you one guess.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

In this remake of a classic old science fiction film, Keanu Reaves plays an alien who is here to discuss certain issues with mankind dealing with it’s impending extermination. But a series of events change his character’s mind about mankind, and he begins to believe that perhaps mankind is, after all, ready to make a change.

Spider-Man.

Yes, there is a Spider Man two and even three out right now, but the first one is still the best. It deals with spiderman becoming spiderman, deals with the Green Goblin, and explains how Peter Parker becomes the classic super hero that everyone knows him to be. With a star studded cast and mind blowing special effects, this movie promises not to disappoint.

The Dark Knight.

This is the second Batman movie, and is the sequel to Batman Begins. But in this movie, perhaps it is no so much Batman who is epic (though he is, )but the super villain! Heath Ledger is the Joker in this movie, and he puts on a performance here that will enthrall, excite, disturb, and frighten you. This is one of the greatest super hero movies of all time.

The Dark Knight

Iron Man.

This movie tells the story of Tony Stark, and of how he became Iron man. Though it deviates a bit from the comic books, it is definitely an awesome movie to watch. Some amazing star power, including the talents of Gwyneth Paltrow, propel this special effects extravaganza to your screen like you have never experienced before. Iron Man summons on a new era, and a new bar for superhero movies that is going to cause the rest of the movie-making world to have a headache!

This movie, starred in by Tom Hanks, is the story of a band who challenges the Beatles back in the early sixties. But what makes this movie so lifelike is the fact that the band actually knows what they are doing, because they all had to take eight weeks of lessons before they filmed the movie. As a result, the movie is as believable as it is delightful.

Once.

This is a movie that you actually may not have seen for it’s relative obscurity. But I have to say that this may be one of the best music movies ever made. It was filmed like a documentary, but is actually a real movie. It depicts the path of a broken hearted street music, and how he crosses ways with the girl of his dreams. The two begin playing music together, and the magic happens from there.

Music and Lyrics.

This classy, fun flick starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore is the story of a washed up English pop artist who gets a big break to enter stardom once again, but he needs a hit song to do it. Unfortunately, writing has been his weak point ever since his band broke up back in the day, leaving him desperate to find a writing partner that he can jive with. But when he finds out that his new housemaid (Barrymore) writes lyrics, he might just get the chance at stardom – and love, that he has been longing for.

Lord of the Rings.

The lord of the Rings trilogy is awesome on many levels. You really get everything with these movies. An all star cast, an epic plot, state of the art visual effects, loads of action, romance, mystery, intensity – everything that could make a trilogy great is in this movie. And because the trilogy was all filmed at once, the stories remain very closely knit and the cast stays very current, making it perhaps one of the most sought after trilogies of all time.

While some people like the one or two of the X-men movies, there is really only one way to experience them – three of a time. So, if it is taking you a little while to catch up from the first one, I would suggest getting to it. That is, if you want to watch some awesome mutant action movies! Wolverine, Rogue, Mystique, Magneto – all of your favorites are in this series!

Underworld

Underworld is a trilogy that you will not want to miss at all. If you love vampires, action, romance, ware-wolves, epic storytelling, or any of the above, then Underworld is a trilogy for your video collection. This trilogy consists of three movies. Rise of the Lycons, is the story about how it all starts. Underworld is the second movie, and follows the storyline into modern day. Underworld Evolution is the exciting climax where Selene finishes the fight, ending the rule of her tyrant vampire master once and for all.

First off, a lot of the characters are indeed very memorable. Duke (played by Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (played by Marlon Wayans, do very good jobs as what are to be considered the main leading roles. The movie begins and ends with these two, and they do a good job throughout, especially Ripcord. Their characters are believable, you root for them all the time (though sometimes wishing that Duke would get his head out of his butt and stop letting the Baroness live), and they do not disappoint.

Two of the best performances during this movie were by Rachel Nichols (Scarlett) and Ray Park (Snake Eyes).  Siena Miller did a good job of acting as Ana, the Baroness, although at times her character did seem to sort of just “walk around looking hot” as bullets missed her. There were times through the movie where she sort of just “looked good” through the action segments, though in all honest, she gets better as the movie progresses. In the final scenes, she is amazing. Rachel Nichols did NOT have this problem at all, delivering her character Scarlett in such a way that she completely made sense, and to be honest, was one of the best characters of the movie.

The storyline was decent, though at times the cut scenes and how characters were woven together was a bit cheesy – at times I wished that they wouldn’t have given you so much information, and that instead they would have just made another movie as a sequel. But you did follow the movie well, which is a good thing.

All in all, this movie was a hit. Great action, memorable characters, a bit weak on the part of the villains, but oh well,  this movie made up for it in more ways than one (and getting to see the red headed Scarlett working out in a belly shirt was one of these moments!).  Watch G.I. Joe, rise of cobra – you will not be disappointed.

Raymond Park

Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom menace

In this movie, Raymond Park plays the role of  Sith Apprentice to the Emperor in a character named Darth Maul. His red face paint, horns, devilish appearance, and double bladed red light saber are unmistakable, and even if the movie was a bit weak in other areas, there is no doubt that Raymond park has delivered to us here one of the most memorable jedI foes of all time. Definitely a movie to see!

X-men

In the original X-men movie, Raymond Park played the part of Toad and did a very good job of it too! The small, muscular super villain was a part of Magneto’s team in the movie, and there are many times where you can tell that Raymond Park’s martial arts skills played a part during the making of this movie. And even if he did not play a particularly “polished” character in Toad, the performance he gave was!

G.I. Joe, Rise of Cobra

Raymond Park played the part of the famous character Snake Eyes in this movie, and delivers what might be his deepest and most visually impressive role yet. This movie is definitely amazing, and Raymond Park’s performance in this movie is equally incredible. If you love guns, martial arts, and futuristic super-warriors, then this is a movie for you.

Sienna Miller

While you may not recognize her as a blond right away (she had black hair in G.I. Joe, Rise of Cobra), Sienna Miller is definitely a real and true blond. But she is also GEORGIOUS!  She was voted number 48 on the Maxim Hot 100 of 2005 list, and number 11 on the Maxim list for 2007. This is a woman that definitely has it together – in more ways than one!

Yes, you may know her for her killer smile but this young hotty has more going for her than just her looks! She was number 11 on the Maxim hot 100 list for 2006, and was actually named the worlds sexiest vegetarian for 2007. So, not only is Kristen Bell drop dead gorgeous with amazing acting skills, but she has a mind of her own, too.

If you have not gotten to see any of these ladies lately in a movie, then you should definitely do so! It is well worth your time – that is, if you enjoy beautiful people and blond hair!

Reign of Fire.

This movie is the gut-wrenching tale of a dragon who was freed from it’s underground prison by coal-miners in modern times. As a result, the world gets overrun by them as the dragon population spirals out of control. They soon replace mankind as the dominant species, and he is forced to hide and fight on the run. But then, an American dragon-slayer comes to England in search of the key to winning the way – the dragon who started it all, the one and only male dragon left on earth.

Everyone knows this story. It is the tale of a boy who inherits a dragon egg, only to realize upon it’s hatching that he is indeed a dragon rider, one who can ride a dragon into battle. But the only problem is that the world is under the tyrannical control of a mad-man king, who will stop at nothing to use everything at his disposal to get rid of this last dragon – and it’s rider.

Lord of the Rings

This movie series includes several dragons, the most famous of which is ridden by the Witch King in one of the final battles. The Nine often ride dragons instead of horses when they need to be airborne, and the action that ensues is absolutely mind-blowing. So, make sure not to rule these movies out when looking for some sweet dragon action… even if you have not considered them dragon movies before, there are few that actually live up to these standards.
