In this movie, what starts out as an unknown, mysterious set of circumstances turns into an all out battle for earthlings to just stay alive! You also follow Tom Cruiseís character as he questions the meaning of what is happening, and tries very hard to stay alive through it all.

This movie, which includes one of the most memorable performances by Will Smith to date, is the story of aliens invading earth in the classic fashion. It starts with giant spaceships orbiting overhead, heats up with a series of aerial battles over the skies of Area 51, includes some up-close and personal alien interaction with humans, and climaxes in a battle where the humans have no choice but to either find the aliens weakness, or die trying.

This movie you will likely remember for its incredible camera work it was all seemingly filmed on a small hand-held camera, which gives you only one perspective on it the same perspective as is held by the character holding the camera. This movie pits one frightfully intense alien presence against humanity in a way that frightens, terrifies, and rivets in ways that you would only believe if you have seen the movie.
